It's January, Here's a Barbaresco Deal

It's January.

I think it's easy to get sucked in the 'January Blues' narrative, but I have to say that, I've mostly come to appreciate January.

As a career retailer, the month of December and all of its craziness at the shop, which culminates in a week of nonstop eating and drinking, is always quite a blow.

January offers a chance to relax, be cozy and, well, to continue the comforting food and drink.

(As you may have guessed, 'Dry January' is not something on my radar.)

So when a delicious, comforting wine comes along with a customer-friendly price on it, nothing makes me happier.

Today I'm happy...

...happy because I get to offer a zippy, yet elegant and completely mature Barbaresco for less than the price of many Barbera these days.

Ca' di Bruno is a relatively new, organic estate in the Langhe that I wasn't too familiar with, but I'm glad that I'm getting to know them through this lovely 2018 Barbaresco.

It's got tremendous aromatic clarity, showing plenty of the rosy, tarry depth you'd expect from a proper glass of Barbaresco.

On the palate, it's wonderfully airy and graceful, culminating in a delicately earthy, mineral punctuated finish.

Is it a legendary wine?  No, it's just a pristine, transparent, irresistibly drinkable Nebbiolo...which is about as good as it gets for me.

I enjoy January...

...most especially when I get a delicious, mature wine at a great price...

...so enjoy January my way...
