The top, single site wine of Da Ros, the Clos Baquey is 35% each of Cab Franc and Merlot, and 15% each of Abouriou and Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a seriously complex red that perfectly encapsulates both the terroir of the Marmandais and Elian's style. It spends three years in barrel and an additional year in bottle before being released, but it's still youthful right now, though it's also immensely enjoyable.
