As you know, Jadot has a dizzying number of bottlings from all over greater Burgundy.
Hell, they even have a dizzying number of bottlings just from their home village of Beaune.
As a matter of fact, they bottle wines from 17 individual 1ers Crus in Beaune...
...Les Clos des Ursules, Les Boucherottes, Les Pertuisots, Les Theurons, Les Avaux, Les Aigrots, Les Cents Vignes, Les Greves, Les Perrieres, Les Coucherais, Les Tuvilains, Les Chouacheux, Les Montrevenots, Les Champs Pimonts, Les Belissands, Les Reversees and Les Toussaints, to be specific...
...but our favorite of their Beaune 1er Cru bottlings is actually the 18th one...
...the Beaune 1er Cru Anniversaire...(to be specific).
What makes it so special, and actually pretty unique in Burgundy, is the fact that it's actually a blend of all 17 of those 1ers Crus.
It's a beautifully complete expression of this, the home court of Burgundy, and what makes today's offer even more special is the fact that it's already aged to its prime drinking spot...
...it's the last of the lovely, joyous 2012 vintage.
In yet another one of my favorite 'found one last stack in the cellar' scenarios, Jadot's US importer discovered one tiny pile of cases and mags of this perfectly mature, perfectly delicious wine in France and tipped me off. I'd been waiting since the early Summer for it to arrive and...it's arrived.
Kinda perfect timing too...whether you are a Burgundy lover in need of a fantastic wine for the Holiday season, or you know a Burgundy lover who needs one, here's your chance.
This 2012 is dark, vividly aromatic, mineral and, in signature Jadot form, is so unbelievably elegant and delicate, with a plurality of fantastic nuance...none of which scream...but dance in and out of site across your palate.
It's not a big wine, it's not a juicy wine, but rather a wine of intricate precision, and classic Burgundian depth.
If you're like me, and you love them small-scaled and dainty, then this has your name all over it.
If you're not like me...you should be...
...so try a beautifully dainty and deceptively complex glass of Pinot Noir...
