Comtes de Champagne - My Favorite Tête de Cuvée
I'll be brief on this one, since it's a Saturday and all...
Of all the big houses in Champagne, and of all their respective tête de cuvées (the top, prestige bottlings of each of the major houses), Taittinger's Comtes de Champagne has always had a very special place in my heart.
While I don't think it helps to say that one particular cuvée is my favorite, I will say that I've had many wonderful experiences with Comtes, and, in the brilliant 2013 vintage (potentially the last great classic, vertically-structured vintage for Champagne), Comtes is definitely my favorite.
So, when I saw that the importer still had a good stock of it at reasonable pricing, I thought it only right to make sure I gave all of you a chance to grab some.
This is one of Champagne's greatest wines, from one of its greatest vintages, the combination of which has yielded one of the most fabulously structured, complex and long-lived wines you'll come across...
