L'Arco!!!

Luca Fedgrico is way more than just Quintarelli's true protégé...

...though that's obviously saying a lot.

He's also, for me, one of the most brilliant winemakers in Italy right now.

The finesse, focus, balance and haunting beauty he manages in the realm of Valpolicella/Amarone is pretty much otherworldly.

There's not much I can say that I haven't already said about him and his wines, but if you're new to this name, you can read my previous thoughts HERE.

At this point, the mere mention of these wines triggers a deluge of orders, so please don't hesitate if you're interested.

Two notes for this release -

One, the Valpolicella Ripasso is now a Veronese IGT called 'Arcum', but the wine and its soul are otherwise the same.

Two, even though I'm holding a bottle in the picture, there is NO RÙBEO this year (the Alzero-esque Cabernet Franc-based Amarone).  A bit of a bummer, yes, but something tells me that we'll all survive with the remaining bounty...

...right??
